William Palmer

William received a BSc in Biology from the University of St Andrews, followed by an MSc in Plant Taxonomy and Biodiversity from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. He then completed a PhD at the University of Cambridge, studying the evolution of arthropod immune systems through comparative genomics and population genetics. Following this he moved to UC Davis to study trait genetics in commercial pistachio trees, before joining the Henn lab in 2020 to work on questions of deep human evolutionary history and genome-wide association testing.
