Sven Kasser, PhD

Sven is a Postdoc with a joint position at Stellenbosch University in South Africa. He joined the Henn Lab in January 2026, after graduating with a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from the University of St Andrews (supervised by Kevin Lala). He also holds an MSc degree in Evolutionary Anthropology from Oxford, and an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Economics from the University of Edinburgh. Accordingly, his interests primarily revolve around the intersection of nominally “social” and “natural” sciences, with a particular focus on the influence of cultural traits on non-adaptive genetic evolution in humans.
